Ashley Rachel Young

Ashley Rachel Young joined her loving Granddaddy in Heaven on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 28. She was the beloved mother of Devan Jo Young and the devoted daughter of John Richard Young, III and Donna Knight Young as well as the brother of John Richard “Richie” Young, IV. She was the maternal granddaughter of Georgia “Grandma” Knight and the late William “Dub” Knight and the paternal granddaughter of John “Papa” Richard Young, II and Catherine “Mopsy” Brunson Young. She was the aunt of Kassie Nicole Young and she will be missed by her aunt Linda Lou, her “Nanny” Knight. She also leaves behind her God-Mother, Christy Nussbaum, an uncle, Kevin Young, an aunt, Mimi Strawn and her first cousins, Tanya Lin Teal and Melvin J. Duvernay, Jr. and other extended family, Devan’s father, Dominick Gioia and his family. She also leaves behind her loving boyfriend, Kevin Chandler. Ashley was a devoted mother to the love of her life, Devan. She was dedicated to her career and was very passionate about taking care her son, her family and herself. She was a very creative person who loved life and her family.

We will always love you Ashley and you will always be in our hearts, love Devan, Mom, Dad and Richie.

Relatives and friends of the family, as well as co-workers are invited to attend the funeral services at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM and will last until 1:00 PM at which time a Prayer Service will be held in the Parlor.
