Barbara Trosclair

Barbara Therese Rivero Trosclair, born September 2, 1943, at the age of 67, departed this life for God’s heavenly home where there is no more suffering, sorrow or pain on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center after a courageous six year battle with cancer. We love and miss her more than we can describe. At the moment of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving husband, Gilbert, and two sons and daughter-in-laws, Brian (Colleen) and Brent (Christie). Barb was a lifelong resident of Nine Mile Point, Louisiana. She was the beloved daughter of the late Oleuse, Sr. and Mabel Rivero, devoted and loving wife of Gilbert J. Trosclair for 47 years. She was the precious, loving mother of Brian Paul Trosclair (Colleen) and Brent JosephTrosclair (Christie) as well as the sister of Beverly Albarado (Carlo), Oleuse Rivero, Jr., (Debbie), Bruce Rivero (Lillian), and the late (Roy Rivero, Billie Rivero, and Terry Rivero). She is survived by 2 grandchildren: Alexis Jordan Trosclair and Brian Paul Trosclair, Jr., and 2 step-grandchildren: Justin Hartdegen (Julie) and Kellie Christopher. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. She retired from the Jefferson Parish School System and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. Barbara was everything to her family. She was the best mother and most wonderful loving wife and she will be sadly missed by Gilbert, Brian, Brent and family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA on Saturday, January 15, 2011. Visitation begins at 3:00 PM and will last until the Prayer Service begins in the Chapel at 6:30 PM.
