Mrs. Bernadette Rose White, the daughter of the late Vincent and Mildred Simmons, was born on November 20, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She worked as a head custodian at Belle Chasse Middle school, where she retired. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Bernadette was preceded by her loving husband Douglas White and siblings: Hannibal, Rudolph, Evelyn, Helen, Harold, Porcha, Aleria and JoAnn. Survived by her six children: Dana, husband-James, Herman, wife-LaToya, Dwayne, wife-Danielle, Tyrone, Tasha, husband-Searle, and Travis. Grandchildren: Kottia, Jamie, Jordan, Alana, Darrien, Tyler, Jalen and Kailen. Great Grandchildren: Royal, Noah, Aaneyah, and Kai and her surviving siblings: Victor, Penelope and Elaine and many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed planting flowers, watching soap operas and working crossword puzzles. Bernadette loved the Lord and read her devotionals daily. She was a kind, loving person who enjoyed giving to those in need, and always looking for items to donate. She is truly going to be missed, and we love her dearly!
We would also like to give a special thank you to our mother's caregivers Kaynodra and LaNetta.
John 16:22. Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
