Bernard John Ewald entered into eternal rest of Monday, May 18, 2026 at the age of 85. Son of the late Bernard and Dorothy Ewald, Jr. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne Emma Ewald. Loving father of Dwayne Scott Ewald, Durand Trevor Ewald, and the late Douglas Helmick, Sr. Devoted father-in-law of Jeanine Hamann Ewald. Proud grandfather of Tyler Ewald (Alexis), Gabrielle Lynn Ewald, Devin Scott Ewald, Ashley Marie Ewald (Patrick), Ambur Rose Ewald (Skylar), Durand Trevor Ewald II (Dynasty), Christy Ewald DeSalvo (Sheldon), Dylan DeSalvo (Khloe), Samantha DeSalvo (Austen), Amber Dugas, Logan Ewald, Lexie Ewald, Hannah Dugas, Abbygail Porter, Isabelle Barrios, and the late Douglas “Dougie” Helmick, Jr. Proud great-grandfather of Kason Tyler Ewald, Bentley Roberts, Patrick Roberts, Jr., Ace Roberts, Isabella DeSalvo, Tessa DeSalvo, Amilyah Cardriche, Alaina Henriquez, Gianni Henriquez, Sophia Crawford, and Jolie Dugas.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 beginning at 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
