Beverly Jane Bourg Damico, age 89, of Marrero, Louisiana died on Friday April 13, 2018 while surrounded by her family. She was born on August 21, 1928 in Marrero, Louisiana. Beverly was the beloved wife of Carlo (C.J.) Damico Sr. for 64 years, and mother of six children: David Owens Sr. (Melanie), Ted Owens, Dr. Mike Owens (Janet), Chris Owens (Cindy), Louise Damico Weigel (Chuck), and Carlo (Jay) Damico Jr. (Randy). She was the proud and devoted grandmother of fifteen grandchildren: David Owens (Tracy), Dean Owens (Powell), Amy Hanna (Jason), Amanda Owens, Tammy Grainger, Albert Owens, Megan Lanier (B.J.), Meredith Owens, Joey Owens (Hannah), Christopher Owens Jr., Dr. Jennifer Owens (Adrian), Melissa Johnson (Barry), Matthew Weigel (Melissa), Lauren Gainey (L.J.), and Elaine Damico. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Griffin, Emily, Jonah, Luke, Molly, Zack, Elizabeth, Alex, James, Ayden and Nicolas and one great-great-granddaughter Eveleigh. She was the sister of Gene Bourg and sister-in-law of Rose Ann Damico Deeters, and Barbara St. Amant Damico . Beverly leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. A special thanks is being extended to Beverly’s niece, Jane Ruiz Aucoin for her love and support. Beverly is preceded in death by her father Thomas Bourg, mother Louise Adams Bourg, grandson Carlo Joseph Damico III, great-granddaughter Brittany Bellanger, sisters Mae Alice Bourg Leblanc, Dolly Bourg Geldersma and Elaine Bourg, brother Thomas Bourg Jr., sister-in-laws Mary Damico Martin (Loveless), Jenny Damico Ruiz (Joe) and Annie Damico Deris (William), Brother-in-laws Sam Damico (Doris), Phillip Damico and Charles Deeters, Father in law Carlo Damico and mother in law Mary Scaccia Damico.
Beverly attended Mt. Carmel Academy and graduated with honors from Holy Name of Mary School. She was a dedicated employee for over 30 years at West Jefferson Medical Center as a medical coder. She enjoyed traveling with friends, as well as baking and cooking for family during holidays and Sunday dinners. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and was loved by everyone that she met. Beverly will be missed dearly by all. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Thursday April 19, 2018 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana. All funeral services will be held at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 Westbank Expy in Marrero, Louisiana.
