Blaine Edward Carew passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the age of 33. He was the beloved son of Nancy Parisean and Peter Carew. Loving brother of Amber Carew. Step son of Bobbi Carew and Ken Parisean. He was the nephew of the late Emmett Keller Jr. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and compassion. He loved animals, and they tended to love him. He brought much joy and laughter to others, constantly finding the light in the dark. He was described as the funniest guy in the room, his brilliant mind constantly worked in overtime to bring smiles to the faces around him. A 2004 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School, he studied business administration at University of New Orleans. The love he had for his family was boundless.
His final act of selflessness was to have his organs donated to save the lives of others through the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency. It was in his character to help those in need. A celebration of his life and spirit will be held at a later date. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
With his crystal blue eyes and open, loving heart,
Blaine understood the power of kindness.
He fought for the underdog because he was the underdog.
His pain and compassion intertwined, enduring one but gaining the other.
A brilliant, curious mind— always asking questions, seeking answers.
Nothing was too outlandish for his spirit. Lover of all.
Loyalty.
Forgiveness.
Acceptance.
Blaine’s virtues shown bright to all those who knew him.
His inner fire, set ablaze with passion to protect what he cared about.
His righteous soul will live on in those he loved ferociously,
for he shared his light with them long, long ago.

“Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.”
-Theodore Roethke, ‘The Waking’
