Carl Luke Montet, Sr.

He was preceded by his beloved wife of over 58 years, RoseMary Talamo Montet. He was a devoted father of son Carl L Montet, Jr (Luke) and wife Nadine, and Jude M Montet, and wife Rhonda. Adored Pawpaw to Joshua (wife Rachel), Jonathan, Ross (wife Chelsey), and Michelle (husband Adam Dufrene) and Pappy to Sydni, Gracyn, Rhett, Ava, and Caroline. He was the son of the late Sydney Sr. and Floride Montet. Brother of Wilton "Tony" Montet, as well as the late Betty Albert, Sydney Montet Jr., and Loyce Smith. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

A native of Marrero, resident of Luling for over 60 years and 5 year resident of Ashton Manor Assisted Living. He graduated from Hahnville High School and Nichols State University in education before he worked as a teacher and councilor for St Charles Parish School System for over 35 years. He served in the US Army, was a member of the KC Council, Jefferson Goodtimers, and worked part time at the St Charles Parish Library for over 40 years. He also earned his barber license. He truly enjoyed his family, but also had a love of books, and singing in the church as well as for many weddings. He touched so many lives in his lifetime leaving a lasting impression of his love.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at his church, Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. In lieu of flowers, follow his example and touch someone's life for the better, such as by a donation to the charity of your choice.
