Throughout his life, he was known for his smile, strength, dedication and fighter’s mentality. As a young man, he was an amateur boxer and his determination and discipline gained during this time stayed with him throughout his life.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long time electrical career at Avondale/Bollinger shipyards. He later retired from the Jefferson parish school system after years of faithful service. Outside of work he was an avid LSU tiger fan and enjoyed coaching softball at Pard Playground for many years.
Above all, his greatest joy was his family. Anyone who knew him understood the pride and joy he carried for his wife, Nancy, the love of his life, for his daughters, grandchildren and his entire family. The cherished memories he created will be carried with them always. His kindness, gentle spirit and enduring love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. He was a fighter until the end.
A special thanks to the staff at Serenity Hospice, particularly Kristen, Malindann, Kim, Julie and Jeff. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
