Carroll Joseph Richard

Carroll J. Richard, passed away on December 29, 2021 at the age of 94, just 4 days shy of his 95th birthday, in his home in Luling, LA. Carroll is predeceased in death by his parents, Ella and Ellis Richard and his wife Nelma Chauvin Richard. Carroll is survived by his daughter Toni Richard, his beloved stepdaughter JoAnn R. Wellmeyer and stepson Allen Richard, Sr., his grandchildren Shelley Cantrelle Miller and Karen Guillot and his step grandchildren, Kristin Wellmeyer Bohlmann, Allen Richard, Jr., Angelle Richard Rosata and Louis Richard and his 12 great grandchildren.

Carroll served in WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of the VFW, the American Legion and Theta Golden Age Club. A very special thanks to Guardian Angels Hospice for taking such great care of Carroll during his last few days.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 2, 2022, at VFW Post 3750, 140 Angus Drive, Luling, LA from 1pm-5pm.

Visitation will be held on January 3, 2022 from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Westside Funeral Home 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA he will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA.

In lieu of flowers Carroll requested that donations be made to the VFW Post 3750, P.O. Box 22, Luling, LA 70070 his wish was to assist in restoring the Post that was damaged during Hurricane Ida.
