
She was the beloved wife of Patrick Caddle for over 59 years; mother of Jeanette Dempsey (Dave); grandmother of Siobhan (Kayleigh) and Sean (Cassie); great grandmother of Elizabeth and Amelia; daughter of the late Peter and Jeanette McLoughlin; sister of Jim McLoughlin (Henrietta). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She trained as a nurse at London Jewish Hospital in London, England, in the early 1950s. She met the love of her life, Patrick, just as he was immigrating to Canada, and they courted via letters. Eventually, he was able to work himself into a position to return to England to marry her and they settled in Chicago, where they lived for many years. She spent the bulk of her working life at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. After retirement, they eventually followed their daughter to Louisiana, because that is where their grandchildren were. She will be remembered for her spunky and unwavering spirit. The daughter of Irish and Scottish parents, she will also be remembered for her wonderful proper Irish accent and humor.
Services will be private. She will be interred in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Il.
