Connie Schaffer Menard died after a long battle with lung cancer on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the age of 59. She was the beloved wife of Calvin L. Menard, Jr. for 38 years. She was the mother of Christopher Menard (Amanda Hawkins) and Casey Burciaga (Ramon Jr.) Grandmother of Isabela Burciaga. Daughter of the late Esther Smith Schaffer and John Schaffer, Sr. Sister of John Schaffer Jr., Sally Gaudet (Ronald Jr.), and Kelly Schaffer (Denise), as well as aunt of Jessica Gaudet. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin on Thursday, August 25 at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Friday at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society.
