Darby Joseph Primeaux born on October 25, 1938, to the late Dalton Primeaux and Elma Crawford, passed away peacefully in his home, on January 15, 2021 at the age of 82. He has now been reunited with his wife of 50 years, the late Audrey Longon Primeaux.
Darby is survived by his 6 children; Pam Theriot (Lee), Eddie Primeaux (Jamie), Penny Percle (the late Craig) (Mike Radecker ), Ponny Foti (Sam), Dalton “Joey” Primeaux (Donna), and Prisca Primeaux, his 14 grandchildren; Jarreith Theriot (Melissa), Blaze Theriot (Becky), Heidi Lanier (Wesley), Heather Bourgeois (Brent), LaTasha Percle, Craig Percle Jr. (Jessica), Lacey Jenkins (Cedric), Ross Foti (Kylie), Alyssa Foti (fiancé, Alberto Castance) , Dalton “DJ” Primeaux (Daniel Acosta), Bella Vallelungo, Zack Carames, Emmie Landry (Tyler), and Leilani Standridge, his 21 great-grandchildren; Alexander, Evangeline, Georgia, Julia, Margaret, Brody, Audrey, Nora, Charlotte, Ethan, Bella, Alex, Ashlyn, Nathan, Nicholas, Nyla, Madison, Marleigh, Liv, Lakynn, and Lennon, and his siblings; Deanna John (the late Sliman) and Gill Primeaux (Brenda).
Darby served in the United States Army National Guard for 12 years where he was staff sergeant with the 2nd Battalion, 156th Infantry until 1968 where he was awarded several decorations, metals, and badges throughout his time of service. Darby enjoyed fishing, listening to country music, and always looked forward to going to the camp with the guys and their yearly fishing trips in Grand Isle. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed getting his daily text from his children and grandchildren filled with pictures and sweet messages, keeping his family close even when they could not be by his side. He never letting them get away without doing so. He will be truly missed by all of us who knew and loved him.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 21, 2021 beginning at 10 AM at St. Bonaventure Church in Avondale located on 329 S Jamie Blvd., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12PM. Mass will be officiated by Fr. Francs Offia, grandchildren; Craig Percle Jr., Jarreith Theriot, Blaze Theriot, Zack Carames, Ross Foti, Dalton "DJ" Primeaux, and Brody Lanier will all serve as pallbearers.
