Darren Anthony Encalade Sr.

Darren Anthony Encalade, Sr. entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2021. Beloved husband of Rathey Gomez Encalade for 30 years. Father of Syndel E. Atkins (Aaron), Sharee E. Marconi (Angelo), Darren A. Encalade, Jr. (Sissy), and Cameron Encalade. Grandfather of Dominic Atkins, Elle Encalade, and Luke Atkins. Son of the late Edward Encalade, Jr. and Mary Ann Schultz Encalade. Brother of Rodney “Peanut” Enclade (Stephanie) and Michelle E. Jones (George). Son-in-law of Adele Gomez and the late John Gomez. Brother-in-law of John Gomez, Jr. (Denise) and the late Crystal “Keke” Arnold. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and his beloved puppy dog Olive. Age 55 years, a native of Lafitte, LA and resident of Belle Chasse for the last 35 years. Darren worked for Seacor Marine for many years as a Chief Marine Engineer. He was a wonderful husband and loved to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He would always make everyone laugh, he loved to go fishing, and was known for hanging the Christmas lights each year. He will be deeply missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30 AM until the service. To honor him, the family asks that you bring a written message, memory, or copy of a picture to place in the casket. A ceremonial interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA.
