Earl Paul Triche entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on July 25, 1944, in Westwego, Louisiana, Earl was the son of the late Edward Fortune Triche and Marcelline Arceneaux Triche. Earl shared nearly 54 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judy Ballard Triche. Together, they built a life and family that meant everything to him. He was the loving father of Jennifer Triche Theriot and her longtime partner, William J. Bates III, and the proud grandfather of Tye Theriot and Maison Theriot, as well as bonus grandfather to Noah Bates. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A skilled automotive technician, Earl spent his career doing what came naturally to him—figuring out how things worked and, more importantly, how to fix them. His final place of employment was Leson Chevrolet Dealership. But Earl's ability to fix things extended far beyond automobiles. To his family and the countless people who relied on him throughout his life, there simply wasn't a problem he couldn't fix.
Earl was known for his larger-than-life personality and never met a stranger. He was always ready with a story, a helping hand, or whatever was needed by someone he cared about. He loved being on the water and fishing, but perhaps more than anything, he loved being there for people. If someone needed Earl, Earl showed up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Fortune Triche and Marcelline Arceneaux Triche; his brother, Lawrence Triche; his sister, Gloria Triche Bowers; his nephew, Miles Plaisance; and his niece, Cynthia Gray.
Earl leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, a lifetime of stories, and the memory of a man whose presence was impossible to miss and whose willingness to help others will not be forgotten.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Interim Hospice and Ochsner Medical Center for the care and compassion provided to Earl throughout the years and during his final days.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, September 4, 2026 visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. A Catholic Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the interment at Westlawn Cemetery.
