

Edward Habisreitinger was called home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a native of Marrero and a resident of Bay St Louis, Ms for the last 8 years. Loving husband of the late Mary Ann Habisreitinger. Loving father of Anna Mae Habisreitinger, Lisa Ann McIntyre (Shane) and Julie Marie Habisreitinger. Devoted Grandpa (Poppy) of Eugene Gregory Habisreitinger (Jaime), Ashley Lynn Schultz and Frank Richard Schultz Jr. Loving great Grandpa (Poppy) of Katie Elizabeth Habsreitinger and Eugene Gregory Habisreitinger Jr. Caring son of the late Eula Bennett Habisreitinger and Elmer John Habisreitinger both of Marrero, La. Brother of the late Silas Habisreitinger, Elmer George Habisreitinger III, Hilda Anderson, Janice Ann Mosbey, Joseph Clem Habisreitinger, Jack Michael Habisreitinger and Lawrence Michael Habisreitinger, all deceased. He also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was well liked by everyone who knew him. He served in the Korean War as a United States Marine. He was not only a Sargeant in the Marine Corps, but he was a hero to the entire family. He was brave and fought for a long time. It was his longtime dream to be buried in his Marine dress blues, a special thanks to 2 fellow Marines for donating and preparing his dress blues for him. We were able to tell him before he passed so thanks, Greg Gibson and Taylor Bourgeois, and his grandson Frank for getting his dog tags. Daddy never met a stranger because he would tell his life story to anyone who was willing to listen. The family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to Hospice Compassive of Mississippi. A visitation will be held at Westside/ Leitz-Eagen Funeral Home in Marrero on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
