Edward "Big Fuz" C. Hertz Sr.

He was the the best Dad and Grandfather ever. Lifelong Lafitte fisherman. Owner of Fuzzy's Bar, where people had some of their best times. No one was a stranger to him. Loved to joke around. Will be missed tremendously. #1 Lifetime Saints Fan.

Son of the late Lloyd W. Hertz Sr. and Odile Rogers Hertz. Husband of Betty Ronquille Hertz and companion of the late Lillian Dixon. Brother of Lloyd Hertz Jr. (Elaine) and Michelle Dauenhauer. Father of Phyllis H. Maxion (Ronald), Peggy Sue Parks (Pal), and Edward "Fuzzy" Hertz Jr. (Christine), as well as his "adopted" George "Waco" Matlock. Grandfather of Nathan Harvey Jr (Monica), Ashley Harvey Babin (Shawn), Tonya Neal (Mike), Stuart Pizani Jr. (Randi), Bree Bourgeois (Chaz), Slade Hertz (Lacie), Alexis Parks, and Savannah Naquin (Darrin). He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
