Ernest Joseph Boquet, Sr. passed away on January 27, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born in Houma, Louisiana on July 26, 1939 to the late William Joseph and Stella Louise Boquet. He was the loving husband of the late Sonja Ann Boquet. Devoted father of Nadine R. Boquet, Cantrelle K. Dansby (Jeff), Ernest J. Boquet, Jr. and the late Nicole T. Boquet. Proud grandfather of Demarques Boquet, Sonja Dansby, Edward Dansby, II, Zakius Boquet and Sa'monnie Boquet. Brother of Linda Potts (the late William), Brenda Dean (the late Jesse), Kathy Burke (Mike) and William Boquet, Jr. Ernest is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
Ernest worked as a pipefitter at the Avondale Shipyard for many years. He loved playing pool, bowling and watching sports. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday, February 4, 2022 beginning at 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
