Ernest J. “Mac” McEvers, beloved husband of the late Catherine Matherne McEvers of 61 years. Loving father of Mary M. Rojas (late Ronald Rojas), Cathy M. Rojas (late Kerry Rojas), and Patricia M. Matherne (Terry). Mac is survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Son of the late Sylvester and Mildred McEvers. Brother of Gertie M. Danos (Wilman), the late John McEvers, Elmira M. Matherne, and Velma Gros, as well as foster brother of Louise Lombas Wildey. Mac was a dedicated employee of Chevron Oil Co., Inc. who retired after 35 years of service. Lifelong resident of Barataria, LA, Mac loved life to the fullest, and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Crown Point on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, beginning Thursday, June 13 at 6:00 PM until Friday at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Pius X Cemetery.
