Preceded in death by her husband, Sterling “Buck” Naquin and her children, Michael Gregory and Gary Gregory. She is the step mother of Tommy Naquin (Sue) and Monica Naquin. A proud grandmother of Jason, Jennifer, Jan-Michael, Justin Gregory and Peyton Naquin. A great grandmother of several great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Tamzia Roper Holland and Linvel Holland. Sister of the late Linvel “L.R.” Holland, Jr., T. E. “Buddy” Holland (Patsy), Francis “Sister” Rogers (Black), Edith Ledet (Morris), Shirley Billings, Diane Elliot (Ed), and Erron “Lionel” Holland. Sister-in-law of Bobbi Nell Holland, Gail Barrilleaux, Jean Cargill and Eve Rametta and brother-in-law of Junior Billings. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A native of Bastrop, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Gretna, Louisiana. The most of Ethel’s life she was a manager of various hotels, legistative assistant to Joe Toomy, coordinated the Westbank Doll and Toy Fund, was an active member of the Gretna AARP and their past president, past president of the Gretna Historical Society and she was very active in the community. Ethel on every Tuesday, she would have her hair done. She always wanted to look her best.
The family of Ethel will be having a private service on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
