Evelyn Verdin

Evelyn Ann Verdin passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the age of 69. She was the beloved wife of Simon Verdin for just under 50 years. She was the mother of Sheryll Defiore (Anthony), Jodie Day (Johnny), and Faye Verdin. Grandmother of Stacie Juge, Lance Defiore (Yonnie), Tony Defiore, Tiffany Day, and Courtney Day. Great Grandmother of Sadie Juge, Christopher Juge, Devin Folse, and Lance Defiore, Jr. Great Great Grandmother of Aryiana Bailey. Daughter of the late Lorraine Cavalier Verdin and Sam Milton Verdin, step-daughter of the late Egnora (Biggie) Verdin, and sister of Loretta Alexie (Melvin), Robert Verdin (Christine), and the late Sam Verdin, Jr. She is also survived by a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a native of Marrero, and a resident of Loranger for 9 years.

She was a foundation for her family. She was known for her cooking and caretaking of those around her. She will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Pius X Cemetery in Crown Point. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
