Sorry to all my relatives.  My cousin Fred aka uncle Freddie was always my fave . I always remember seeing him with a smoke in one hand a beer in the other and still managing to hold his fishing rod. It's  been quite a few years since I've gotten to see you and hopefully you'll pay me a visit and see your lil shadow my daughter.  I will always remember the fish trips with you and my dad fondly and your amazing sense of humor. The world is a little less brighter without you in it.

Uncle Fred,

Sorry it took so long to write something, I just didn't know what to say!  I just don't have the words!  I am missing you more everyday.  I remember all of the times we spent together and all the times you helped me. I enjoyed fishing with you as much as everybody else, I also enjoyed eating our catch as well.  I remember when you asked me if I wanted some crabs on one of our fishing trips, I say yes and you told me go ahead and empty a few of those trap I keep an eye out make sure nobody see us. That was some good eating crabs.    

I remember all of the Holidays, parades (I was made to go to so that I could carry all of the stuff you, Aunt Betty and mom caught, because you'll were getting old, that is what mom and aunt betty would tell me) and birthday parties and dinners. We did much more then fish together. 

Last week I was feeling lost, I didn't know what to do on your birthday.  I wanted to do something for you but didn't know what. I always enjoyed getting you the best card and your favorite chocolate candies.  Reese peanut butter cups.  So I went out and bought me a regular Reese cup and ate it for you.  Then I  talked with mom about what I could do for you.

Week of July 11 through July 17, 2015 @ Immaculate Conception Church

Fred, today was a hard day for me because you weren't there for me to lean on as you have been in the pass.  Today, as you know is the anniversary of Kyle death, he has been gone from us for 27 years today and sometimes it seems like it was yesterday.  

As I went to his, and now your gravesite, today it was really hard because you have always been there with me and today I had to do it all by myself,   Kyle was my heart and soul and we both missed him so much and you were suppose to be with me today.

As I am sitting here looking at the pictures of both you and Kyle, remember our lives ( both the good times and the trying times) I long for more times with both of you, but I know that isn't possible.  

I know that you and Kyle are together at last and I hope that today was a
joyous day for the both of you, remember me and how much I love and miss the both of you.

My heart belongs to the both of you now and forever.

Most of my favorite memories with Daddy are from times when we were fishing.  Actually, that is probably true for most of his friends and family.  He ALWAYS knew where the fish were, no matter what river, lake or canal we happened to be fishing in.

I remember a time when i was trying to drink a soda, while fishing with a cane pole - the fish were biting so fast that I would pull one out, swing it over to Daddy so he could take the fish off & put a worm back on, he would throw the hook back in and another fish would bite it again before i could take another drink. (At that point in my life I was still letting him put the worm on the hook!)  

When you were out in a boat with Daddy, you didn't even need a fishing pole to "catch a mess of fish."  One afternoon we went paddling in a pirogue out at Big Al's place with two paddles and a pistol.  I wanted to shoot the gun. Daddy pulled the boat over to a little tributary going back into the swamp, I shot down into the sand, and scared mullet started jumping over us to get out of the tributary and into the canal.  He used his paddle to knock over thirty mullet into the pirogue.  

One of the best times though was when Daddy, Danny and I took my son Daniel out on his first fishing jaunt.  Daniel brought in all the fish we hooked that day and the string of fish was so heavy he could barely hold it up for the picture!    

I keep remembering that silly thing he would say when we were just starting to fish,"Fishy fishy in the brook, jump on little Freddy's hook."  I wonder how many kids he made smile over the years with that silly little jingle?  We will all miss that I am sure.  I know the "the fish will be biting in Heaven" every day, from now on.

My love goes out to Betty too - who was there for him through good days and bad.  Betty, thank you so much for your dedication and love given to Daddy over the years!

Fred, I miss my birthday buddy, we always celebrated birthdays together since ours were only a week apart. No big parties just exchanging cards and little gifts. We were always on the hunt to see who could outdo the other with the funniest or silliest cards, sometimes, just plain lame card. Fred won most times, but I do believe he had a little help (betty). I am going to missed all of those simple pleasure we shared in life. I am lucky and blessed to have had known and share so many times (good, bad, happy, sad) with him. No matter what, he was always there to extend a helping hand if you needed it. He also stepped up and spent extra time with my sons after their Dad died. As much as those boys would allow him. You will always be remember in my heart and in my home, for all you have done for me and my sons. Thanks for being "You".

Now,finally he is getting to spend time with his son and I am sure they are fishing.........

My brother, Fred .... moved on ... graduated ... and passed through the Gates of Heaven to celebrate.   Fred touched the lives of many, many people who will never forget his kind deeds on earth.  His heart was always in the right place.  Fred was always giving to other people.  I'm sure he is enjoying the rewards God has bestowed on him.

Today is your birthday and as I visited your gravesite today with flowers and balloon, my heart ache for you.  I miss and love you so much.

There never has been a kinder, more caring person.   Everyone who knew Fred loved him.   You just couldn't help it.  It was contagious.  "To know him was to love him."

Thinking about my big brother Fred on this day, I am comforted by memories of fishing, working, and spending time together. It is reassuring to know that those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. As a young boy I looked up to my big brother and remember how generous he was with his time and talents, especially with children. As time goes by I will continue to look up to my big brother Fred and remember his generous heart. Fred, you will be in our hearts and minds forever.

Fred was a unique person and anyone that knew him knew he was his own person.  On his journey through life I can definitely say that he lived his life his way.

Fred and I journey through life started a long time ago.  I first met him when I was 18 years old and I think that I have always loved him.  We had our ups and down through our relationship and was parted for fifteen years before we were reunited.

As I look back on our life, I can remember the love and happiness we shared in our lives.  Our greatest accomplishment of our love was "Kyle" our son.  The loss of our son was the hardest part of our lives that we endured.  We never got over the loss of Kyle and Fred grieved for him every day.  He worried about me and always put me ahead of himself.  He was happy knowing that he could do things to make me happy even though he didn't always agree.

He was a person with a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand, asking nothing in return.  The negative part to that was, too often, he was taken advantage of and even he was hurt he kept it to himself.

He definitely had a stubborn streak in him and was determined to do things his way and often had problems following the basic rules of life.  He was not into technology and I was lucky that he could use the microwave.

His greatest  passion in life was fishing, he loved to fish and the fish stories always grew bigger each time that they were told.  A bad day of fishing to him was always better than a day at work.  He was a good fisherman and shared his love for the sport with many throughout the years.

I know that I was being selfish but I wasn't ready for him to go home and leave me.  As I  sat by his side over the pass few months I saw him growing weary and tried, and he tried to stay for me but I knew he couldn't.  Over the past few weeks, I have been told by many that I was the "Love of His Life, and he let everyone know it.

Now that his life on earth has ended and he is now home in Heaven with Kyle, I know that he is at peace.  I will miss him with all of my heart, because Fred you were also the "Love of My Life".

Fred, Remember the good times we had going fishing together, digging worms together, going to the creek and fishing. You always made sure I caught a fish, with your help. Remember the last time, we fished together, we were at the lake and you made sure I got fish to take back, so mama could cook them.
Your love of those around was evident in all that you did, making sure that their needs were met. 
Our Children, always loved you, and enjoyed being with you at iur mom's funeral. May God bless you and keep you in his care, until we meet again. Love, Vivian

I was Fred's favorite Sister in Law and I reminded him every time I seen him as he was my favorite Brother in Law.  He was a good man, someone who would give you the shirt off of his back.  Always thinking of others.  He will be miss but never forgotten.
