Gail Gossett Cheramie

Gail Gossett Cheramie, age 79, of Lafitte, Louisiana passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 24, 2025. Gail was the wife of the late Leo Joseph Cheramie, loving mother to the late Kent Joseph Cheramie (Angel), the late Wendy Danos (Earl), Carrie Cheramie Boudreaux (Kenny), and step mother to Kim D. Guidry (Chris) and the late Debra Tassin (the late Jimmy). Loving grandmother of Nicole Matherne (Louis), Malcolm LeBlanc III (Mallory), Derrek Tassin, Kayla Lapara (Alex), Kent Cheramie Jr., Earl Danos Jr. (Christina), Lexie Rome (Tristan), Justin Joseph (Trey), Brandi Robin (Jonathan), Kenny Boudreaux III, and great grandmother to Kaydence, Madilynn, Margot, Malcolm IV, Helena, Ava, Kali, Haisley and River. She is the daughter of the late Henery Thomas Gossett and the late Leonarda Alonzo Landry and the stepdaughter of the late Walter Landry. She is also survived by numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren.

Gail was a resident of Lafitte her entire adult life. She worked for The Times Picayune, but she is vastly known throughout the Lafitte Community as the assistant to her daughter at Wendy's Hair Designs. If you didn't know her from the "shop", you definitely knew her as the woman who loved to dance at local festivals and weddings, or she was the woman singing her favorite tunes to her family and friends, which always seemed to bring them to tears.

She had a huge heart that extended beyond the love for her family. There was never a person she didn't know, and she was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her, but she always said, "The sun will one day shine again."

Services will be held privately by her family.
