Gareth "Gary" Ross LeBlanc Sr.

Gareth "Gary" Ross LeBlanc Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on September 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Carolyn LeBlanc and his loving family. Father of Gareth Jr. (Lydia), Lanvin (Charlotte), and Keenon Sr., and stepfather of Dena (Kirby Sr.), Allyson (Francis), and Dale Jr. (Samatha). Gary was born on January 5, 1937 to the late Ignace and Lillian LeBlanc. He is survived by his siblings Gerald (Brenda), Malcolm (Loretta), Melroy (Loretta) and Lydia. Preceded in death by siblings Lorilei, Lou Ella and Mary, and his first wife Angeline LeBlanc. Gary was a lifelong commercial fisherman beginning at a very young age, and took great pride in raising his sons to do the same. His love of the shrimping industry continued as he successfully built the LeBlanc Seafood Processing Plant and Ice House serving Lafitte families. Gary was loved by many, never met a stranger, and unforgettable by all whom he met. He was a gifted, humorous and lively storyteller whose love of hunting, shrimping and family were at the forefront of his stories. He generously shared his time, talents and blessings with many and will be deeply missed by all. Gary had great love for his grandchildren, Gareth III (Trisha), Tandi (Freddy), Ashley (Steven), Krissy (Daniel), Lainee (Dean), Kayla, Megan (Kelly), Sheena (Jason), Keenon Jr. (Erin) and his step grandchildren Chastity (Brad), Laci (Jimmy), Kirby Jr. (Alex), Zachary, Olivia (Ryan), Jenna (Adam), Jordan and Hayden; and his 27 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. followed by 1:00 p.m. chapel Mass at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA. Interment in St. Pius Mausoleum, Crown Point, LA.
