

George Oscar Boudreaux Sr. passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 75. Born January 10, 1951, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, George lived a life marked by steadfast faith, devoted service, and a dignified commitment to the people and communities he loved. George was a resident of Marrero, Louisiana.
George was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd H. Boudreaux Sr; his mother, Ethel Clement Boudreaux; his brother, Lloyd Boudreaux Jr. (Penny); and his sister, Zoe Barrois (Dane).
George was the beloved husband of Opal R. Boudreaux for 55 loving years. Devoted and loving father to George O. Boudreaux Jr. (Donna), Jeffrey P. Boudreaux, and Jennifer B. Carter (Aaron). He was a proud grandfather to five grandsons: Drew, AJ, Dylan, Aiden, and Austin. He is survived by his siblings, Judy Rhodes (Lee), Donald Boudreaux (Carolyn), and Chris Boudreaux. Son In Law of Opal P. Ruttley of Lafitte, Louisiana. Brother In Law of Joseph Ruttley, Jr. (Cyndy), Robin Rawle (Frank), and Pamela Blank (Ricky). He was also a devoted friend to Mike and Pam Robeaux and Paul and Margaret Bondi. George is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A faithful man, George received the St. Louis Medallion and served with distinction in the Knights of Columbus, achieving 3rd degree and 4th degree membership and holding the roles of Grand Knight, District Deputy, Area Coordinator, and numerous other positions. He was also a member of the Greater New Orleans Salesian Cooperators, Exodus 90, and St. John Bosco Men’s Club. In service to the Lord, George served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist and as an Usher at St. John Bosco Catholic Church.
George dedicated many years of hard work to the Alliance Refinery, beginning in 1972 with Gulf, and later retiring in 2007 from Conoco-Phillips 66. He graduated from Delta Heritage Academy in 1969 and maintained cherished connections with his classmates—known as the “Forever Friends from class of 1969”—attending multiple reunions alongside many friends from other classes as well. He also attended Nicholls State University.
Throughout his life, George found joy in woodworking, fishing, trawling, boy scouts, and throwing darts—pastimes that reflected his steady hands, patient spirit, and appreciation for time well spent. His life will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude by all who were blessed to know him.
George's family would like to extend their gratitude to Heart of Hospice, especially Melinda Harlow, for their care and compassion during his time of need.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 8:30AM and continue until the Mass time. George will be laid to rest following the Mass at the St. Anthony Church Mausoleum. Family and friends are invited to gather after the interment in the St. Anthony Church Hall.
