Gloria Irene Savoie

Gloria Irene Sarrah Savoie entered into heaven on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Elwood “Sonny” Savoie, Sr. Loving mother of Elwood “Scooter” Savoie, Jr. (Theresa), Susan Savoie Watts (the late Kemp), the late Marlene Savoie and Darlene Savoie. A proud grandmother of Amber Savoie Cardon (Jarred), Brent Savoie (Toni), Brad Watts (Ashley), Katie Watts and great grandmother of Blair Watts, Kacie Watts, Hayes Savoie, Layla Cardon , Jeremiah Cardon and Joel Cardon. Daughter of the late Alcidie Ockman Sarrah Doucet and Ernest Sarrah. Preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Victoria Sarrah DiGiovanni (Joe), Mitchell Sarrah (Leona), John Sarrah and Alfred Sarrah. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Age 87, a native of Killona, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Westwego, Louisiana. Gloria enjoyed her TV shows and mostly spending time with her family but her favorite times was with her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy. Marrero, Louisiana on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Visitation beginning at 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment following in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, Louisiana. Online condolences available at www.westsideleitzeagan.com

So many memories have faded away, but I remember as a teenager Sue, well I had a few too many drinks, when I wasn’t suppose to be drinking and Mrs Gloria, helped to get me better so my parents wouldn’t find out....she was a sweet lady always smiling....and a constant wave from her as I would drive down Avenue F, she was one of those people you just don’t forget......
