

Butch was born on October 19, 1958 in New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband to Julie Adams Schexnayder for over 35 years (262 Butch years). Loving father to Danielle Marie Schexnayder (Randy Theriot Jr.), Ashley Adams Cortez (Susan), and his late furbabies Suzie and Dixie. Born to the late Harry Joseph Schexnayder Sr. and the late Gladys May Donaldson Schexnayder. Son-in-law to Betty J Adams (Herman) and the late Hubert P. Adams Sr. Brother to the late Patricia S. Flettrich (Allen). Brother-in-law to Hubert "Kippy" Adams Jr. (Brenda), Keith Adams (Beverly), Robin Adams, Marc Adams, Dawn A. Lemoine (Jody). Godfather to Arlene Flettrich and the late Eric Flettrich. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Butch spent most of his career as a pipe fitter at Avondale Shipyard. He was also a commercial truck driver, commercial fisherman, and business owner of Classic Painting & Renovations.
Butch will always be remembered as a hard working family man with an outgoing, fun loving, life of the party type of personality. He was well respected and loved by all of his family and friends. He would not hesitate to be there if he was needed. Butch never met a stranger! He thoroughly enjoyed life on the bayou and camping at Hidden Oaks Campground. He was an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies included fishing, hunting, frogging, etc. He also enjoyed testing his talents with gardening and many DIY projects. He was known to many as your daily Facebook weather man. For many years he was a captain and mentor in a competitive pool league which he loved. He enjoyed day cruising and bike nights on his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife, biker brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until Mass and continue after Mass until 9:00 PM. In honor of him, casual attire is requested, preferably Harley, motorcycle attire, or camouflage.
