

Henry was proud of his Polish heritage. He attended the University of New Hampshire on a track scholarship, earning a Bachelors in Education. He was an accomplished runner, having held the state record for the one mile event when he was in high school. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in the infantry at Ft. Knox Kentucky. He left the military as a Captain. After the Army, he taught American History at the high school level and served as a cross country/ track and field coach. From there, he moved into public and private school administration serving as a vice principal and principal. He retired from education and pursued coursework and training to become a certified nursing assistant, in order to contribute and help others. He worked in that capacity with Ochsner Foundation Hospital for 14 ½ years. He eagerly embraced the culture, food, people, and essence of New Orleans, living his life vigorously.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM.
