Herman Carl Alonzo Jr.

Herman Carl Alonzo, Jr., "Bucky", entered into heaven on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 75. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn S. Alonzo of 52 years. Loving father of Jason Alonzo and his wife Stacie and Jamie Alonzo-Watts and her husband Derek. Honorary father to his chosen children Susie and Dean Sauvage. Proud grandfather of Wyatt, Cecilia and Ernie. Bonus grandfather of Juliana and Alaina. Son of the late Betty Matulich Alonzo Gonia, Edward Gonia and Herman C. Alonzo, Sr. Brother of Mickey Kalosky (David), Bonnie Palermo Albert, Sandra Davis, Connie Acker and the late Judy Kirk (Paul). Honorary brother of Donald Tauzier (Meri). Brother-in-law of Betty Plaisance (Donald) Sandra Pellegrin (Larry), Susan Scanio (Tony), Robert Sanchez (Bebe) and the late Harry Sanchez, Jr. (Debbie). Bucky is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

Bucky was a native of the Westbank, living in Gretna with his loving wife for the last 52 years.He was a member of St. John Masonic Lodge in Algiers, William D. White in Gretna and the Irish Channel Marching Club. He was self-employed for many years as the owner of Alonzo's A/C and Refrigeration Company. He also worked as a contractor for Triad Industries until his retirement.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, November 22, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero.
