Mrs. Hilda Matherne Breaux

Hilda Matherne Breaux passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday Evening, April 7, 2014 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Clyde Joseph Breaux. Mother of Evelyn Freeman, Deanna Hill (Frank), Kathy Van Pelt (Larry), Reneé Mansfield (Craig), and the late Steven Joseph Breaux. Grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 19, and great-great-grandmother of 9. Daughter of the late Clairville P. Matherne and Nora Boquet Matherne. Sister of Terral Matherne, Marie LeBoeuf, Lydia LeBlanc, Lorraine Fanguy, Carolyn Matherne, and the late Ray Matherne (wife, Nancy), Hillman Matherne, Francis Matherne, and Elaine Orgeron. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a native of Bourg, Louisiana and resident of Westwego and parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor for 72 years. She was a homemaker, a great cook, and loving mother. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Westwego, on Saturday Afternoon, April 12, 2014 at 1:00. Visitation will begin at 10:00 in the morning at Westside LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
