Jack A. Adams, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 peacefully at his home. Beloved husband of Margret Johnston Adams for over 53 years. Loving father of Ted Adams, Barbara Dufrene Trapp (Shawn), Kathy Keown (Tom), Terry Adams (Jan), Rhonda Fremin (Yancy) and Nancy Adams. Proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Son of the late Hazel Lee Trosclair. Brother of Linda Ralph (Mike) and the late Shelton Adams. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
As a young man Jack served his nation and was a proud Army Veteran. For over 30 years he was employed by the Jefferson Parish School Board as a bus driver for Bus No. 96. This was more than just a career. He cared for all his children the only way he knew how, with compassion and love. He had the gentlest of hearts. Jack was also a founder of the Jefferson Indian Riding Club and a member of the Westbank Racing Pigeon Club for many years. When he wasn’t busy with his clubs he enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or spending time in his garden. But his greatest joy in life was his family. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of loving him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero on Monday August 1, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Guardian Angel Hospice: 825 N. Little Farms Ave. Suite D, Metairie, LA 70003.
