

Retired Swamp Tour Captain "Captain Gator," 62 years old, an authentic alligator (Animal Whisperer) left this earth to return to his eternal dwelling with God on September 14th, 2021. He has been healed and no longer suffers in his earthly body. He was loved and will continue to be loved by his family and friends.
James, a life long resident of Crown Point, Louisiana, will be remembered for his love of family, animals (especially gators), his captivating voice, infectious laugh, Elvis impersonation, and spectacular swamp tours.
He was the father of Scott Drachenberg. Son of Carolyn Creppel Drachenberg and the late Jimmy Lloyd Drachenberg. Grandfather of Trint Drachenberg. Brother of Todd Drachenberg (Christy) and Tanya Drachenberg. Uncle of Matthew Drachenberg, Courtney Gray Drachenberg and Chazz Grabert.
As a result of Covid-19 and Hurricane Ida, his family will hold a Memorial Mass at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Marrero, Louisiana, on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 10:00AM. State mandated masks and social distancing will be required for all family and friends who will attend.
