James Earl Glaviana

James Earl Glaviana of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born in St. James Parish, Louisiana to the late Giacomo "Jack" and Rita Folse Glaviana. James was married to Agnes Wendt Glaviana for 65 loving years. Devoted father of Mark Anthony Glaviana (Mary), Deborah Ann Glaviana, Theresa Marie LaValla (the late John), and Elizabeth Marie Glaviana. Loving grandfather of Lindsay Raines (Kerry), Corey Vidal (Lindsay), Mark Glaviana, Jr. (Dina), Jenny Fields (Danny), Thomas Simmons II, Harold Simmons, Amber Simmons, Savannah Simmons, John LaValla II, and Dakota Simmons; as well as 13 great grandchildren. Brother of Jude Glaviana (Clara), Michael J. Glaviana, Maurice Glaviana, the late Henry Glaviana, the late Jacqueline Glaviana, the late Tilly Haynes (Dave), and the late Angelina Davis (Joe). James is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who are left to cherish his memory.

James was a United States Navy veteran that served as a Boiler Operator on the USS Colahan from 1956 until 1959. Later in his life, he began working for Southern Pacific Railroad which later became Union Pacific Railroad where he retired after 40 years of dedicated service.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 1:00PM and continue until the service time.
