Janice spent her childhood between Livonia and Fordoche, Louisiana, before later relocating to Gretna. She loved family gatherings, karaoke, baking, cooking, anything purple, butterflies, vacationing and spending time with her grandkids. Every Thanksgiving, she hosted a beautiful celebration with a spread of her delicious dishes especially her famous banana pudding. Decorating for the holidays was one of her greatest joys, and she kept a tree up all year round as a reminder of the spirit she loved so much.
Janice also cherished her quiet mornings, starting each day with a hot cup of coffee and her favorite soap operas The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives. It was her peaceful time to unwind and catch up on the stories and characters she adored for years.
Doing for others was a big part of her life, and she found her purpose as a long-time caregiver after many years working in accounting. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Shannon Bordelon (Benjie) and Tabitha Wofford (Owen); grandchildren Brittany Shuff, Marissa Shuff (Ethan), Torrie Shuff, Kaden Wolf, Victoria Bordelon (Adrian), Jordan Bordelon and Cody Bordelon; great-grandchildren Madyson Aliff, Rowen Gonzales and Anakin Fernandez; sister Sherry Johnson and former husband of 14 years Robert Cope.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Donald and Betty Joyce Amedee, and her brothers and sister, Leroy Amedee Sr., Leo Donald Amedee Jr. (Stephanie) and Ursula Andress Huff. She was also preceded in death by her former husband of 25 years and the father of her children, Richard Wofford.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Janice at A Day to Remember Garden Club at 1785 Carol Sue Avenue Terrytown, LA 70056 on December 5, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
