Born on April 24, 1961, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dewey and Mary Helen Kelly. Janice possessed a creative spirit and found great joy in writing, drawing, and playing the keyboard. She was a truly selfless person who always put the happiness and well-being of others before herself. More than anything, she wanted everyone around her to enjoy life, make beautiful memories, and embrace each day with joy and gratitude. She believed life was meant to be lived to the fullest, and she encouraged others to laugh often, love deeply, and never take a single moment for granted.
Janice’s greatest legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her sons, Davis Nicholas III and his wife Ashlyn, Dane Nicholas, and Drew Nicholas and his wife Logan; her sister, Judy Burns and her husband Jim; and her sisters-in-law Donna Nicholas and Melinda Kelly. She was the proud grandmother of Davis IV, Drayden, Dawson Nicholas, Dane Jr Nicholas., Wyatt Jones, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her newest grandson, Vincent Nicholas. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, including Christopher Chapman (Rita), Lane Kelly, Dewey Kelly, Jed Spurgeon (Laura), Susan Turley (Matthew), and Steven Burns (Samantha); and many great nieces and nephews.
She is reunited in rest with her late daughter, Destinee Jones (Austin), and her brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Kelly.
Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service for Janice on Friday, July 31, 2026 beginning at 11:00 am at Highland Cemetery, 3401 W 7th St. in Hattiesburg, MS.
