Jorge Rojas

Jorge Rojas was received by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was 71. Beloved husband of Mirna Maritza Rivera Rojas of 45 years. Father of Yecenia Rojas Lopez (Marco), Mirna Rojas Barrera (Henry), Tania Rojas Martinez (Luis), Gina Rojas Acosta (Cesar). Grandfather of Natalie, Tatiana, Bianca, Sofia, Jorge Luis, Vanessa, Melanie, and Gianna. Also survived by his mother, Santos Rojas, five brothers, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, Antonio Rojas, brother, Ruben Rojas, and sister, Digna Rojas. He was a native of La Ceiba, Honduras, and resident of the New Orleans area for 30 years. Prior to coming the United States, he played professional futbol in Honduras. Later in life, he was a sailor for Carnival Cruise Lines for 10 years. He was responsible, hard-working, loving, and always full of joy. He had a very strong character, and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service from Iglesia de Dios Getsemani, 2701 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, on Wednesday Evening, May 29th, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00.
