Joseph Keith Buras

Joseph Keith Buras entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Age 77 years and a lifelong resident of Boothville, LA.

Beloved father of Nicole Buras (Henri) of Evanston, IL, Chelsea Buras-Fortner (Dwane) of Nova Scotia, Joseph Keith Buras, II of Boothville, LA, and Adrian Aaron Buras (Katie) of Norfolk, VA.

Devoted Grandfather of Quill Dugas.

Son of the late Ruby Vaughn Buras and Herbert Lionell Buras.

Devoted friend of Tina and Nicholas Broekman.

Also survived by host of Brothers, Sisters, Nieces and Nephews.

Joseph was a devoted member and past Grand Master of Triumph Lodge #422, Buras, LA. He was a lifelong Commercial Fisherman in addition was a Hair Dresser and former Offshore Superintendent. He was an advocate in support of Commercial Fisherman and represented his fellow man in his community of Plaquemines Parish. He proudly spoke many languages including Vietnamese, French, Portuguese, Spanish and German. He was also a master navigator and was never lost in direction or purpose. He was never more faithful to his family or beliefs.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Graveside service on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Masonic Cemetery #1, 4900 Bienville Avenue, New Orleans, LA.
