

Joseph Thomas Simon, Jr., son of the late Odette Troxclair Simon and Joseph T. Simon, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 29, 2013. He was the stepson of Aurelie Troxclair Simon. He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Jacqueline E. Simon Simon. He was the loving father of Jack Simon (Sue), Gregory Simon (Kay), Paula Simon, and the late Eugenie Simon Bourgeois. He was the grandfather of Mindy Simon Lepine (Troy), Dustin Simon, and Christine Bourgeois, and the great-grandfather of Devin and Alyssa Lepine. He was the devoted brother of the late Earl Simon, Sr. the late Lawrence Simon, the late Maurice Simon, and James Simon, Louise Simon Schexnaydre (Emile), and Thelma Simon Tucker. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a parishioner and Usher of Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero. He was a member of the American Legion Post 222. He was a dedicated employee of Airfrigeration Services for 35 years. He was a member of Plumber and Steamfitters’ local Union No. 60. The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff and residents of Wynhoven Healthcare Center. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 Seventh Street, Marrero, on Thursday Afternoon, April 4th 2013 at 2:00. Visitation will be held Wednesday Evening from 5:00 until 9:00 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, and resuming Thursday at the Funeral Home from 10:30 until service 1:45.
