

Joyce Mae Leaber Alombro Guillot entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2021 at the age of 85. Born December 14, 1935 in New Orleans, LA. Daughter of the late Isabel Kingsmill Leaber and George Leaber. Wife of the late O’neil (Junior) Guillot by second marriage and the late Gerard John Alombro, Sr. by 1st marriage. Mother of Sabrina Alombro, Vicky Alombro Bourg, Lisa A. Leger and Arlene A. Gould. Grandmother of Dr. Darrell P. Bourg, Jr. DDS (Ashley), Darren S. Bourg, Keith J. and Christopher J. Alombro, Samuel S. Beane, Jr. and Alexandra Alfortish Giardina. Great-grandmother of Christian and Jared Alombro; Larry, Tori, Hadley, Connor, George ‘Cooper’ and Hayden Bourg and Emmy Giardina. Eight great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Adele ‘Sis’ Pertuit and the late Irene Guidry. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born and raised in the Irish Channel and attended Redemptorist High School. Joyce worked as a waitress for over 25 years serving at the Please-U restaurant on St. Charles Ave, the Riviera and Key Hole in Westwego ,La. She loved watching her LSU Tigers and her beloved Saints play football. Although she never drove a day in her life, she managed to get out and go joyriding with her best friend, Deanna Stanley around the old neighborhoods of New Orleans, dining out at all the great New Orleans restaurants. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, the Ozarks, New York City, the Florida and California beaches, Disneyworld and Disneyland, cruising the Gulf of Mexico and visiting her grandparent’s homeland, Ireland. A resident of Wynhoven Apartments in Marrero, La. for 21 years where she was twice honored as “Volunteer of the Year”. Special thanks to Angel, Daniella, and Gail at Compassus Hospice, Adele "Sis" Pertuit, niece Debbie, and “Mr. Curtis” for the loving care that was provided. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
