Julie Ann Breaux, a Marrero native and former Finance Administrator/Office Manager of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Morrison and Higgins insurance agencies and Westlawn Cemetery, transitioned peacefully into her Lord’s loving arms on January 22, 2021, at the age of 75, from natural causes. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alton Pierre Breaux and Angelina Palmisano Breaux. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Breaux Ledet and her brother in law, John J. Ledet, Sr. She is survived by her very dear Aunt Mary Ellen and Uncle C.J. Theriot. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews (who were like her very own children and lovingly called her “Aunt”... just Aunt, not Aunt Julie): Michelle Ledet Rodriguez, Johnny Ledet, Christy Freer-Greene (Scott) and Michael Ledet (Melissa). She was adored by her great nieces and nephews (who were like grandchildren to her, and who affectionately called her “Auntie Bear”): Lauren Rodriguez, Toria Beasley, Laci Rodriguez, Macilyn Mo-Ledet, Emma Ledet, Sophie Freer, Jaxon Ledet, Ryan Ledet, Tulsi Greene and a host of other cousins, family members and friends. Julie was the sweetest soul known to many; a kind, loving and giving being. She was a Christian to her very core, who always put God first, and her family ran a very close second to Him! She had advice for any and every occasion (solicited or unsolicited) and was an excellent listener. She was an avid sports fan who loved Pelicans basketball and Saints football. Julie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and cherished all the people who came into her life through her affiliation with that parish. Many relationships were formed there and carried on until her death. Julie’s love for her family and friends will remain with her in her new home in heaven.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass that will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Sidney Speaks and located at 455 Ames Blvd in Marrero. Services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 and the order of service will be as follows: Visitation and greeting of the family will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the Rosary at 9:45 am, then the Celebration of Life will begin promptly at 10:00 am with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Prompt Succor cemetery and will be limited to immediate family.
Due to COVID19, it is understood that many may want to attend Julie’s services, but do not feel safe in doing so. For that reason, her services will be live-streamed on St. Joseph the Worker’s website: www.Stjworker.church, Facebook (St. Joseph the Worker Church – Marrero), and YouTube (St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Marrero).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be said at St. Joseph the Worker in her honor. The parish office can be reached at 504-347-8438.
