Kallum Noel Arceneaux, also known to many as “Kato” or “K9 Racing,” passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 56. He was born on November 9, 1969, and was a lifelong resident of Westwego, Louisiana.
Kallum grew up in Westwego on Victory Drive and graduated from Higgins High School in 1988. In 1989, he was involved in a serious accident that changed the course of his life. Though the accident left him in a wheelchair, Kallum beat the odds and continued to live life to the fullest, never allowing his circumstances to define his spirit or determination.
He enjoyed the outdoors and cherished camp life, boating, fishing, and hunting. Racing was one of his greatest passions, and he was well known for his 1990 Chevy 454, which he had specially modified so he could continue to drive despite his disability. Kallum never let anything slow him down and proudly continued his love of racing, earning his place at “The Pad,” as a racer and a favored spectator with his own special parking spot that will always remain his.
Kallum was preceded in death by his parents, Ozemia Arceneaux and Diana Phillip, and his brother, Justin Arceneaux.
He is survived by his caring partner, Virginia Breaux; her son, Rueben Breaux (Ariel); and their two children, Lincoln and Hayes. He is also survived by his brothers, Wade Arceneaux (Michelle) and Dwayne Arceneaux (Lisa); his sister, Justine Rogers (Jody); along with four nieces and nephews and two great-nieces, all of whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many friends who became family over the years from his life in the bayou, as well as his racing crew, who shared in his passion and will forever carry his memory.
A memorial visitation will be held at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, located at 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, Louisiana, 70072, on January 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kallum will be remembered for his resilience, independence, love of life, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
