Kathleen "Kitty" Bean

Kathleen "Kitty" Mary Bean, age 62, of Westwego, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. For 42 years Kitty shared a life with Randy Bean and through their union they had two sons, Wayne Bean (Melanie) and the late Joshua Bean.

Kitty is the loving grandmother of Katalina Bean, daughter of Josephine Camardelle and the late Arthur Charles Sylve, beloved sister of Jacqueline (late Arnold), Amanda (late Anthony) and Sybil. She is also survived by her nieces Dorothy, Tina, Angel, Nicole, Tonya and Gina and her nephews, Paul, Thomas, Rue, Brandon and many great nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, Kitty attended Archbishop Blenk High School. She worked at Gretna Courthouse for over three decades where she touched the lives of many. Kitty was a dedicated member of New Day Christian Center. Her faith and love of God has always been at the center of her life, as evidenced by her tireless service to her congregation and community. Kitty poured her heart into her work with the Bridge City Fire Company Support Group. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting and hobby projects. Kitty was generous with her time and talents. She often gifted to others what she had made with her hands – craftwork, food, or otherwise – to those around her. She loved her dog, Lilly.

Kitty was deeply proud of her namesake, her granddaughter Katalina. She enjoyed every moment they spent together.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Cornerstone Christian Center, 6550 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, Louisiana 70072.
