Laura Mae Leaber

Laura Mae Autin Leaber passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 96. She was married to the late Lloyd "Honey" Leaber Sr., for 66 years. She is mother to Lloyd Leaber, Jr. (Elaine) and Barbra L. Chiasson. Laura is survived by her granddaughters Terri L. Pennison (Harris) and Melissa "Missy" Hughes and her great granddaughter Megan Leaber. She is also survived by her younger brother Lloyd Autin, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was born to the late, Whitley and Celestine Dominick Autin. She is preceded in death by her siblings Oscar Autin, Irene A. Warr, Leena A. Loisel, Murphy Autin, Sr., and Lois A. Melanson.

Laura is a life long resident of Harvey/Marrero, Louisiana. She lived her life to the fullest. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with family and many friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Margaret's of Mercy in New Orleans, and a special thanks to the owners and nurses for their excellent care at Total Home Health Care.

A Mass of Christian burial for Laura will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Monday, February 8th, 2021 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana. Due to the pandemic seating will be limited and face masks must be worn at all times.
