

Leona Hebert Anderson passed away on October 27, 2024, just a few weeks shy of 99. She was born on November 13, 1925 in Houma, Louisiana to the late Ferdinand and Ada Hebert. Devoted wife of the late Goldman "Dick" Anderson. Loving mother of Wanda Bazor (Leon), Donnie Anderson (Diane) and the late Ronnie Anderson, Sr. (Nancy). Proud grandmother of Lisa (Norvin), Ronnie, Jr. (Belinda), Derek (Patsy), Michelle (Jim), Joseph, Darin, Darel and Dorothy and 9 great-grandchildren. Sister of Edmond Hebert and the late Jeanette Adams, Eunice Bonvillain, Eula Rhodes, Evans "Vin" Hebert, Jimmy Hebert, Roy Hebert, James Hebert and Borge Hebert. Leona is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Leona was a very independent, hard working woman. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and walking. She would walk anywhere she needed to go, sometimes avoiding taking the elevator and climbing the stairs. Leona was very dedicated to her faith and would repeat the Rosary several times a day. She also enjoyed helping others by volunteering at the neighboring nursing home. She always had a smile on her face that brightened any room and left a lasting impression. Leona was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, November 4, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM at Westside Leitz/Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM immediately followed by burial at Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale.
