Lionel Joseph “L. J.” Sevin passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, June 8, 2015. He was 51 years old. Loving father of Nikki Sevin. Grandfather of Lauryn Williams. Son of Robert J. and the late Ruth Belsome Sevin. Brother of Linda Matula (Rick), Laura Bodiford (Kenny), Mary Heirsch (Vicky), Lydia Sapia (Tim), Helen Jackson (Carrol), and the late Lucie Sevin. Godfather of Tasha Becnel and Jodi Davenport. He was also survived by his dear aunt Adele Wells, close cousin Susan Guilliot, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. L.J. was native and lifelong resident of Marrero. He was the classic “Jack-of-all-trades,” always willing to lend a helping hand to fix anything that needed repair for anyone. He was a talented artist, great singer, and also enjoyed the outdoors, considering himself a certified Cajun. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
