Lorena Plaisance Matherne

Lorena Plaisance Matherne, age 92, of Westwego, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Lorena was born November 17, 1929 to the late Sidney and Armetine Plaisance. She was married to the late Junius Joseph Matherne for 51 years before he passed away in 1998. Devoted mother of Patsy Mefferd (Jim), Rickey Matherne (Marie), Timmie Matherne (Maria), and the late Jimmy Matherne (Linda). MawMaw of 10 grandchildren and Granny of 25 great grandchildren. Sister of Mally Dominique, Carrydene LeBlanc, Errance Plaisance (Linda), and the late Evans Plaisance, Nita Day, Pearl Boudreaux, Nolan Plaisance, Raymond Plaisance, Harold Plaisance, Melvin Plaisance, Junior Plaisance, Clifford Plaisance, Leroy Plaisance, Cecile Arceneaux, and Lawrance Plaisance. Lorena is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at Church In The Home, 1100 Avenue E in Westwego, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until 11:45AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Interment will follow the funeral service at Plaisance Family Cemetery next to the church.
