Louis Joseph Morvant Sr.

Louis Joseph Morvant, Sr. entered peacefully into heaven on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He is survived by his devoted wife Debbie LaPoint of 32 years. A loving father of Angel Morvant Richards (Clay) and Louis Joseph Morvant, Jr. (Rachael). A proud grandfather of Tanya Morvant, June Panyko, Martin Panyko, Kiley Morvant, Louis Joseph Morvant, III, and Raelyn Morvant. Son on the late Lucille Agnes Gros Morvant and Eves Jules Morvant and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Erline Billoit Carbajal and Wilfred LaPoint. Brother of 8 brothers and 7 sisters and was the brother-in-law of 1 brother-in-law and 2 sister-in-laws. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His love of animals in which he had 5 dogs and 2 cats but his favorite “Sissy Girl” who preceded him in death.

Louis retired from being a painter by trade and he enjoyed his saints football, fishing, cooking, coached childhood sports, working on cars for his friends, a jack of all trades and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed his scratch offs and helping his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to assist with the funeral arrangements.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 9:00 am until Funeral time. Interment following in Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
