Louis E. Terrel Sr. “Joe” passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 19, 2018 at the age of 85. Joe was an undefeated arm wrestler who was the best boat captain in the Gulf of Mexico. A devoted father and an avid crab and shrimp fisherman, he was known for his crab boils and being a regular at Joe’s Café. Joe loved playing the slot machines and buying scratch offs. Husband of 56 years to the late Alice Toups Terrell, son of the late Edward and Lydia Terrel. Father of Mona Rome (Larry), the late Kenneth LeBlanc Sr., Kim T. Dufrene (Carl Sr.), Annette T. Percle (Donald) and Louis Terrel Jr. “Lil Joe”.
Brother of Ethel Terrel Autin (the late Willery), the late Edward J. Terrel Jr. “Bud” (Catherine) and the late Betty Terrel Ronquille (the late Jarvis). A proud grandfather of Larry Rome, Jr. (Darlene), Todd Rome (Dawn), Marcus Rome (Danielle), Jason Rome (Michelle), Kenneth LeBlanc, Jr. (Stacy), Nicholas LeBlanc (Melissa), Carl Dufrene, Jr. (Amanda), Justin Dufrene (Shelbey), Mark Percle, Jr. (Shantell), Nichole Terrel (Brad), Brandon Terrel (Paula), Dalton Terrel. PawPaw Joe to 19 great grandkids and two great great grandkids. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Heart of Hospice, especially Joe’s nurse Melinda and his aid Ruth Ann.
