

Lucie Ann Sevin entered Eternal Rest on Friday, October 28, 2011. She was the beloved mother of Ashley Lynn Jernigan (Thomas) and the late baby Jay Orgeron, the devoted Nana of Paris Jernigan and Charles Jernigan, the loving daughter of Ruth Belsome Sevin and Robert Sevin and the sister of Linda Matula (Rick), Laura Michel (the late Jessie), Lionel Sevin, Mary Heirsch (Vicky), Lydia Sapia (Timmy) and Helen Jackson (Carrol). She also leaves behind her loving companion George Barker and his extended Barker family, her special friend Shelly Munsterman and a “sister at heart” Susan Guillot. She was the former wife of Hamilton Jay Orgeron and she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Lucie served in the United States Air National Guard for 24 and ½ years where she retired as Master Seargent. She was a lifelong resident of the Westbank and she attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from John Ehret High School. She will be sadly missed by all and the family would like to especially thank all of her caregivers.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM and lasting until 11:00 AM at which time a Prayer Service will be held in the Chapel. She will be remembered for her positive outlook throughout her lengthy illness and it is reflected in her favorite quote: “Today is the first day of the rest of your life. You will never live this day over after it is gone, make the best of it if you can. Stop to smell the roses, the coffee, the air, and to tell someone you love them.”
