Margarita Santos Cuevas entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Renan Cuevas, Sr. of 68 years. A loving mother of Renan Cuevas, Jr. (Patricia “Patty”), Luis Cuevas (Cheryl), Eddie Cuevas (Cindy), Rolando Cuevas, Margarita Cuevas Henning (Chris), Maria Cuevas Barrero (Charles) and Ramon Cuevas (Christine). A proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Carmen Aguilar Santos and Marcos Santos. Preceded in death was her 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Margarita was 87, a native of Merida, Mexico and a resident of Westwego, Louisiana. She enjoyed cooking a mean meal, traveling back home, and spending time with her family and friends.
A private service was held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral home. Interment will be at a later date. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
