Mrs. Marie Louise Durapau Parks

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego for Marie Louise Durapau Parks, 81, a native of Hahnville and resident of Marrero, who died at 8:25 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time at church. Burial will be in Westlawn South Cemetery, Gretna. She was the mother of Allen Parks, Jr. (companion, Diane), Daniel Parks (Debora), Donald Parks (Patricia), Pamela Parks Richard, and Karen Parks; sister of Richard Durapau Sr. and Virginia Durapau Nicholas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Joseph Parks, Sr.; parents, Marcel and Marceline Kinler Durapau; five brothers, Marcel Jr., Robert Sr., Walter, Charles, Paul Sr.; and two sisters, Nora Durapau Daigle and Marguerite Durapau Lauland. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion – Lawrence Griffin Post 206 in Westwego.The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the loving caregivers from Angel Care who stood by her side: Ursula Stoval, Birdie Lemon, and Jaclynn Haynes.
